You will depart in the morning and cross the Demerara River to Enter the Kumuni Creek. Your trip in an open boat will take you past homestead Farms carved out of the wilderness, and past stations where tropical fishes are trapped for overseas Markets and alongside Amerindian fishing in the Coco Cola colored waters. You will marvel at the varied Vegetation and see tropical plants that are twenty feet high compared to the same ones that you have in your home in pots an your window sill. The bird's overhead will guide you long until you reach your destination, Santa Mission, A typical Amerindian village.
We will stop for A Picnic Lunch and a swim in the "Black" waters of the Creek. In the afternoon we will introduce you to the "Captain or Chief" of the village and tour you through the settlement, learning about the culture and activities of the village. There is a small craft Cooperative where you will find locally produced Baskets and Woodenware. A final dip into the waters and then we will head homewards along the same route that will, as with all trips into the interior, be an entirely different trip than the one earlier in the day. A return over the Demerara River with the sun setting and a quick drive onto Georgetown will have you back in time for Dinner at your Hotel.
